Can you really trust your bible? Doesn't it have a lot of mistakes? These were the questions I was asked in a mattress store two years ago. In my experience it is not uncommon for Christians to be asked how they could believe in the authority of a book that contains so many errors. Usually when I hear the word "errors" I will ask what a person means by that term. This is usually when I get into a discussion about textual criticism. Daniel Wallace says, "Textual criticism is the discipline that attempts to determine the
original wording of any documents whose original no longer exists." There are many Christian thinkers who have thought long and hard about this in regards to scripture. I have found myself indebted to their work. Below are a couple of articles and a book I recommend to you. I hope you find them helpful.
